Free software alternatives

I am a passionate supporter of free software, and I believe that whenever someone needs to do something on a computer, they should try and use free software to do it. Today, quality free versions of most software exist, but in most cases people aren't aware of them, or assume they must be untrustworhy or poor quality. Because of this, I've put together a list of free software alternatives to programs, and I'll put a mark by the ones I personally use too for those curious.
